All this shows that a great deal of this treasurewere things imported from Byzantium. The treasure which con-tained above 5 K of gold, had evidently been buried in thesecond half of the 9th century. hi case 69, the numerous pieces with ornaments in theCeltic style, placed in the middle of the case, must be speciallypointed out among the ornaments of gilt bronze; these have nodoubt been brought home from heland or Scotland.
