AthleticAssociation. It is not very encouraging. Gen-erous friends of the College have given us by farthe best athletic field in the state, and it is thepart of the students to show that he College isworthy of their kindness. Among some studentsa disposition has been shown to get out of payingtheir athletic fees if possible. Language whichwould express our feelings adequately upon thissubject might not look well in print, so we con-tent ourselves with saying that the spirit of thestudents should be such that they would payheir athletic fees as soon as possible, and in addi-their subscribe something toward the payment ofthe debt. We can not have the most successfulathletics while laboring under such a burden ofdebt. The athletic management next year muststrive to practice every possible economy, but goodequipment is necessary to championship teams.The real change must be made in the income ofthe Association, and this means some sacrificeon the part of the College as a whole. JO THE TIGER. ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT. THE BASEBALL SEASON. The result of the baseball season of the Inter-collegiate League does not show the real abilityof the team that represented Colorado College,but the team was in hard luck all year. In thefirst practice game, Pettibone, the balance-wheelof the infield, had his shoulder dislocated, whichforced him to quit the game. Then our schedulewas as bad as it could be, and after the first twogames it was impossible for the team to play upto its limit, for no amateur team can be kept inform unless it has steady, earnest work. Thepractice games with the Millionaires did the teama world of good. Boulder was simply walkedover in the opening game, and one week later theMiners were cruelly surprised by being com-pelled to recognize the superiority of our teamin a well played game. After this splendid be-ginning the Tigers took a slump. The Aggies re-quest to have their game with us postponed waskindly granted by Manager Hunt, and for threeweeks our
