a 40-in. Buf-falo fan, direct-driven by a 4-pole, 2-hp, 250 r. p. m., 350-volt in-duction motor. The trans-formers are each providedwith four taps in the prim-ary winding, giving a totalvariation in voltage of 10per cent. A tap in the mid-dle of the secondary windingis used in starting the ro-tary. The station switch-hoard consists of three ex-citer panels, one lightingfeeder panel, two high-ten-sion generator panels, onehigh-tension out-going linepanel, one 360-kw, 13,200-volt rotary panel, one 600-volt d. c. rotary converter panel,and two 600-volt d. c. feeder panels. Panels are blackenameled slate; instruments of dull-black finish. A novelfeature of the arrangement of the electrical apparatusis that in place of arranging the switchboard, transformers,etc., in the main engine room, these are placed in thebay.
