Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Strangford Bay path (1). Shown on the 1:25,000 OS map as the "Strangford Bay Path", the path forms part of the local Lecale Way and the longer-distance Ulster Way. It starts here, on the road to Downpatrick, tours the small peninsula on which Strangford sits, before ending back in the town near The Square.

This tour is in a clockwise direction and (except where stated) all views are in that direction.

The path is in good condition - there was only one short muddy stretch of a few yards. Overall a pleasant walk but not suitable for wheelchairs or for those with limited mobility. There was one dark bit with untrimmed brambles at eye level.

The brown sign denotes the "St Patrick's Trail" through part of east and north Down. Most of the path and surroundings are not shown on the Google map. Continue to 1495469.
