| Description |
English: The Southern Ford in Bennett's Lane, near Pattingham Another view of this ford, running along the lane, which is marked in its own right on the 1:25000 O.S. maps. Notice the banking on the right in the foreground which keeps the Black Brook in the ditch. This banking continues back two hundred metres or so, or the road would be semi-permanently in flood. Somewhere in the next two hundred metres past the road sign, the brook changes name to Nurton Brook.....then there's another ford. The houses of Great Moor can be seen. |
