Summary[edit]
DescriptionThe Slap Savica.jpg |
English: The Savica Waterfall in the Triglav National Park is the source of the Sava Bohinjka in Slovenia. It rises as a kast source from a fault cutting into the Komarča cliff. The fall draws its waters from the Triglav Lakes Valley. From a horizontal Triassic limestone cave with underground lakelets and siphons it slides down 38 m at an angle of 50 degrees and then falls almost vertically by 51 m into a mighty rock trough. The Komarča cliff is home to a warmth-loving plant community of Hophornbeam, Star Broom, Swallowwort, Manna Ash and the endemic Bohinj Iris. Komarca and the surroundings of Black Lake (črno jezero) abound in reptiles including a peculiar Horvat’s Rock Lizzard. Below the pool there is a dam for the Ukanc power plant, which was built during the construction of the Bohinj railway tunnel.
Nederlands: Savica waterval.
