Description
English: Michael Schimpf, his wife Maria, and daughter Eva, taking the oath for a US visa in the International Refugee Organization's refugee centre at Salzburg, Austria. The Schimpf family arrived in New York on the USS GENERAL C. H. MUIR in October 1951. Photographer: Davis Pratt. A purple stamp on the reverse reads: `International Refugee Organization United Nations Specialized Agency HQ US zone Germany. The International Refugee Organization operated between 1947 and 1952.
