Description |
English: The Royal Navy during the Second World War A general view during the thanksgiving service at the Municipal Stadium, Alexandria. The combined services thanksgiving service at which 10,000 were present, was conducted by the chaplains of the forces and the salute at the march past which followed was taken by Vice Admiral W G Tennant, CBE, MVO, Flag Officer Levant and East Mediterranean. With him were Brigadier F W Bewsher, Area Commander, and Air Vice Marshal S E Toomer. Note the dais at the front of the service bedecked with the Union Flags, and the Wrens standing at the back of the service. |
