Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Remains of the Market Hall Facade This narrow section of Victorian Gothic stonework is all that remains of the magnificent market hall facade that was destroyed in the name of progress in the 1970s. The market was built in 1863 and had stood for over one hundred years before being demolished. The replacement buildings have already been rebuilt once, and in 2007 they are in the process of being redeveloped yet again as part of the Northgate Development project. The large stone at the base of the buttress carries a damaged benchmark. The black and white building on the left hand side is the Dublin Packet pub.
