Width: 18 in. Display Dimensions: 13 3/16 in. x 18 in. (33.5 cm x 45.72 cm) Publisher: Tsunajima Kamekichi Credit Line: Bequest of Mrs. Cora Timken Burnett Label Copy: Utamaro was famed for his tender portrayals of mothers and children. This is a rare scene; only one other impression is known from any other collection. It has been carefully printed with costly mica added by hand to areas of the mothers garment. The artists signature appears at the right. Label Copy (Spanish): "Utamaro era famoso por sus representaciones tiernas de madres y nios. Esta es una escena rara; slo se conoce una impresin ms en otra coleccin. Est impresa cuidadosamente y la prenda de la madre lleva aplicaciones de mica, un mineral caro. La firma del artista aparece a la derecha."
