mc sub-zero permafrost & mp3 DJ Netty @ the Pearl, New Orleans, LA, during Mardi Gras 2008

Netty was so laid-back and amazing, babysitting my cantankerous MP3 player for this show at the Pearl during Mardi Gras. She loooked like a glow-worm majorette in this ensemble.

i had packed, as usual, an insane amount of excess costumery and accessories nad ended up doing the stylist thing and making her wear the fishnets (worn on her arms), the striped leggings and my Rude Mechanical Orchestra MArching Band hat. I was still totally enamored with my "Mexican Witch" hat. This redoubtable Spanish tourist hat was given to me by Roc off the Barcelona squat wall. I immediately started wearing it to almost every gig. The "ASS MERCENARY" sash, earrings, polyester top and leggings, and plaid miniskirt were all designed and constructed by yours truly. I bought the polyester in Costa Rica in 2006, made some hot pants for the Mutate or Die Tour, and then, after long research and expirimentation designed the pattern for the top, constructing it in Brooklyn and then inaugurating it on the Fortress of Ass European mini-tour (selected dates with Filastine), finally completing finishing on it in Berlin (hemming cuffs and making self-collar). IT was originally concieved way back in 2004-2005 as a garden print hooded onesie for the RMO. Still sad never got to style it out with them, but was too busy touring and then moving.
