Summary[edit]

Description
English: The M1/N1 at Ballymascanlan The Dundalk bypass section of the M1 opened in 2005 completing the motorway from Santry in Dublin to Ballymascanlan north of Dundalk. The road was designed to allow a free-flow continuation of the road north to Newry and Belfast. The extension of the road, to Cloghogue south of Newry (the N1/A1), for 9½ miles as a limited-access dual carriageway (see 234474) is underway and is expected to open later in 2007. The section in the foreground will be the connection between the motorway and the new road. This is the view to Newry and Belfast.
