He must portray thedays of anxiety and soHcitnde on the part of bothpastor and people in days of weakness, when thatchurch was among the Httle home missionary churchesof Iowa. He must show what was the part of eacliand all the home mission workers, who, by their pray-ers, labors, gifts and sympathies, sustained it, till,by the blessing of God, its liberty and Christ-lovingprinciples were triumphant, and it became a tower ofstrength among sister churches in the state. But, if such things as these are to be fully and truth-fully told, who is to be the chronicler? And yetnothing short of this, and more than this, would bea complete history. Over and above the few factsand figures which we can put down in connectionwith the history of any one church, as the results ofhome missions in Iowa, there are in the divine Mindand as eternity will reveal them, other results just asdefinite and tangible, greater, and more in number.T
