Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Grange Poplars These new trees are part of 64 hectares of wet woodland and broadleaf planting created in 2003 on low land either side of the River Devon. Poplars and willows dominate the wet woodland, with 7% of the broadleaf being indigenous Black Poplars, a rare tree in the East Midlands. Public access routes and signage have been incorporated and the farmland is managed to provide an exceptional habitat for a large variety of birds. This includes hedgerows, reed beds and wide field margins. 114 different species of birds have been recorded since the project began. The site was awarded the English Nature Farming for Wildlife Award and the Wilkinson Environment Award in 2003. See 251333.
