Summary[edit]

Description Edgar Tower, Worcester. This fortified gateway was built in the mid 14th century and formed the entrance to the monastic precinct. It was formerly known as St Mary's Gate. In the 18th century it was thought to have been first built during the reign of King Edgar in the 10th century, and became known as Edgar Tower. The present statuary was added in 1912
