English: The Duchess visits Seaton Delaval. The Duchess of Sutherland prepares to pass under the road to Morpeth from Seaton Delaval on the A192. She is running along the freight-only line linking the Port of Blyth and Lynemouth to the East Coast Main Line at Benton Junction and, here, passes through the site of Seaton Delaval station (1841-1964). The construction of a new station a short distance to the southwest (out of shot) has been proposed as part of the Northumberland Line project. |
