Instead of merely speaking to the rock, he struckit twice. Partly the sin may have been that he was unjust,for he became angered against the people when their callfor relief was really necessary. God Himself said the sinwas because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in theeyes of the children of Israel. Perhaps there had beena moments wavering even in Moses perfect faith.
