When Joseph turned from the woman inhorror, she grew bitter against him, and, going to herhusband, accused Joseph of making toward her thoseadvances which in truth had been all upon her side.Naturally Potiphar believed his wife; naturall)^ alsothe lesser servants, Egyptians, upheld their mistressstory as against the foreigner, the Hebrew, who hadbeen set over them and doubtless kept them to strictaccount.
