Summary[edit]

Description

The day started with the sighting of these beautiful cranes in large numbers (1000+). We chanced a large number of them in a field on the side of the road. They were just relaxing in the morning sun and seemed comfortable in the large group they were in. The water has slightly receded on one side making it a good place for several birds! These are migratory cranes from Northern China / Siberia / Mongolia and fly over the Himalayas to come to India during the winters! The birds are named by Queen Marie Antoinette and the word meant "Lady" - as in Lady of Nobility.

Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
