English: The 92nd Gordon Highlanders at the Battle of Mandora, a waterclour now in the The Gordon Highlanders Museum, Aberdeen. The battle on 12 March 1801 was a French attempt to block the advance of the British Expeditionary Corps towards Alexandria, following their earlier landing at Aboukir Bay. The 92nd led one of two British columns that broke the French line and forced their withdrawal. |
