Deutsch: Beschreibung: Die Zwitscherschrecke (Tettigonia cantans) ist nach dem Grünen Heupferd eine der größten in Mitteleuropa vorkommenden Heuschrecken. Die männlichen Tiere erreichen eine Körperlänge von bis zu 30 mm, weibliche Tiere werden sogar bis zu 35 mm lang. Die Art ist vorwiegend grün gefärbt und besitzt am Rücken eine längliche braune Zeichnung. Der Legebohrer des Weibchens ragt deutlich über die Spitze der Flügel hinaus. Adulte Tiere von Tettigonia cantans treten ab Mitte Juli bis Oktober.
English: Description: The family Tettigoniidae, known in American English as katydids and in British English as bush-crickets, contains more than 6,400 species. It is part of the suborder Ensifera and the only family in the superfamily Tettigonoidea. They are also known as long-horned grasshoppers, although they are more closely related to crickets than to grasshoppers. |
