Summary[edit]

Description

In 1978, public health officials expressed growing concern about the over-use of antibiotics, which contributes to the emergence of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria. Lab technicians tested the effectiveness of antibiotics against specific bacteria by measuring the “zones of activity” around the bacteria on susceptibility disks.
