Dodgiest yumcha ever! So much for Hongkong-style dimsum. Our first item was a spongey 带子豆腐 scallop with beancurd, as if it was refrozen. That was followed by an ok 鲜腐竹卷 beancurd rolls, followed by a sticky gooey 朝州粉果 Teochew dumplings. Then another dodgy 咖喱鱿鱼 squid in curry sauce that was mushy, and some ok 叉烧包 BBQ Pork Buns. The 蛋嗒 egg tarts were stone cold. The cold dishes were spicy hot, or at least the 凉拌三丝 Sichuan Salad was, despite the waitress assuring us it was not. The 泡菜 pickled Chinese Cabbage was so salty it made our eyes water! All the spongey, gooey, mushiness was probably and indicator of food being overcooked. Possibly leftovers that went back into the fridge or freezer and re-steamed the next day! At least none of us got the runs! :P We finished with a super-sweet 豆腐花 Sweet Beancurd and some 红豆杯仔糕 Red Bean Rice Cakes that were floury and tasteless.
