English: Templeton Carpet Factory, Glasgow. Designed by William Leiper, 1892. Modelled on the Doge's Palace in Venice, in polychromatic brick. The original building (1889) collapsed due to insecure fixings. Used as a business centre since 1982, and now (2005) being converted to apartments. A corner of the 1936 extension by George Boswell is visible to the right. |
