English: Temple_of_Jupiter_Olympius Ελληνικά: Τοπίο με τον ναό του Ολυμπίου Διός όπως τον είδε ο Στιούαρτ από τον Ιονικό ναό του Ιλισού στην νοτιοανατολική πλευρά της Ακρόπολης. Στο βάθος βλέπουμε το βουνό που στην αρχαιότητα ονομάζονταν Κορυδαλλός και σήμερα λέγεται Δάφνη. Στο κέντρο της εικόνας δεσπόζει ο ιερός βράχος της Ακρόπολης. Πιο χαμηλά εικονίζονται μερικές χριστιανικές εκκλησίες, ενώ δεν φαίνεται κανένα τζαμί. Ο ναός του Ολυμπίου Διός είναι το σημαντικότερο μνημείο της περιοχής. Στα δυτικά βλέπουμε το θέατρο του Διονύσου, ενώ ο Ιλισός κυλάει ξερός εκτός από την βροχερή εποχή. Μια συντροφιά νεαρές κοπέλες έβγαλαν τον φερετζέ επειδή βρίσκονται μακρυά από τα βλέμματα των ανδρών. Τρεις χορεύουν έναν συρτό χορό που συνηθίζεται στην Αθήνα. Αυτή που σέρνει το χορό κρατάει μαντήλι στο χέρι και υποδύεται την Αριάδνη. |
