Summary[edit]

Description On OS maps this well-known local landmark is described as 'temple' I have spoken to one of the farmers, who says it was probably a hunting lodge belonging to the former Castle Semple estate. At hundreds of forested acres, people out on shooting expeditions would need somewhere to shelter should the weather turn. Inside can be seen hols in the masonary used to support first story floors and a fireplace. Taken 20th February 2010
