English: This photo was taken recently during April 2023 at Telok Ayer Street, my colleagues and I were out and about after work and were looking for a casual dining place to chill and have dinner as a team all together as we wanted to celebrate some celebratory news that have taken place during that time period. As we were looking around for a restaurant nearby to our workplace area to eat at, we happened to pass by this vicinity area and the restaurant across the road caught my attention due to the large crowd it has garnered. The building itself had a totally different look from the restaurant itself as the building was built with distinct Chinese design elements all around. From the window cover boards seen above from the second and third levels of the building to the shape of the building architecture itself and even up to the edges of the building itself, where a row of Chinese tiles could be seen to be used to allow rainwater to trickle down easily, the building architectural design had truly caught my interest overall. And that was when I learned that the building was strongly inspired by the Thian Hock Keng Temple, which was a historic Taoist temple built in the classic Chinese style of architecture with columns & dragon sculptures further down along the same street.
