Object history

1648: commissioned by John II Casimir Vasa, Warsaw
1666: given to Jan Bonawentura Krasiński and Teresa Chodkiewiczówna by John II Casimir Vasa

1947: transferred to National Museum in Warsaw (MNW) from Krasiński collection, Warsaw
Notes Part of the set commissioned on the occasion of King's election and coronation. The set consisted of 12 tazzas with effigies of Polish Kings from Ladislaus II Jagiello to John II Casimir. Presented by the King to Jan Bonawentura Krasiński as a wedding gift. Base in the form of Polish eagle with Vasa Dynasty emblem on his chest. 7 tazzas were destroyed in 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising and planned destruction of the city.
