Near Hanumandhoka Durbar Square in Kathmandu district, Makh is now called Makhan Tole. The temple of Tana Devi or Tarini Bhavani Devi in the same place.

English: Near Hanumandhoka Durbar Square in Kathmandu district, Makh is now called Makhan Tole. The temple of Tana Devi or Tarini Bhavani Devi in the same place. The real name of this place is Makhah. Its history is connected with the Jyapu of a Newari community. Later it was called Makhan Tole. Special worship is performed in this temple on the day of Maha Puja or Gobardhan Puja of the Newari community. On the same day, there is a practice of offering sacrifices in this Tarini Bhavani i.e. Shaktipith. There are idols of various deities including Shri Machhenarayan, Shri Swasthani, Shri Laxmi Narayan in this temple premises. This temple is full of woodwork. There is also a small stone fountain on the right side of the temple. The locals also call her Tanadevi the elder sister of Taleju Bhavani in the Hanumandhoka area.
