English: T Ness, Caerphilly Tar Distillation Works, Railway Terrace Approximate grid reference for a large works that had 34 rotative steam pumps and kept me busy for an entire Sunday morning. The works largely stopped in 1985. Many of the pumps were preserved around the country due to the enthusiasm of S I Smith, the works' engineer. |
