Summary[edit]

Description Cornus sericea ssp. sericea—red osier dogwood. The former name and synonym C. stolonifera, describes the growth habit that makes this taxon useful in creekside restoration: it ability to spread by stolons. Widely used as an ornamental because of the striking red color of stems in winters. The building in the background is the Juniper Lodge used as gardeners' office, workshop, & potting shed. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA. Camera used was a Canon T90 w/20 mm FD wide-angle lens.
