Description
English: This truck of the T.A. Wilson Lumber Company almost made it to shore. In the springtime the ice melts along the shores and creeks first and becomes unsafe.

It is unknown where this photo was taken and the date. However, the contributor was the late Doreen Howard who lived with her husband John on Loon Lake (now Skootamatta).
Local resident Bill Tibble (now deceased) supplied a written account on Feb 28th, 2009 of his memories of working for T.A. Wilson Lumber Company. Tom Wilson (owner) lived in Cannington but operated lumber camps in Cloyne, Denbigh and Matawatchewan areas. Bill recalls working at the lumber camp on Skootamatta Lake around 1946-47. The camp was located at the present day boat launch on the upper lake.

Because Doreen Howard had the photo and since T.A. Wilson operated on Skootamatta Lake it is likely this photo was taken on Skootamatta.
