Description
English: The picture depicts the symbolic Tomb of Christ during Easter celebrations in the Greek Catholic Cathedral of Hajdúdorog, Hungary. According to the tradition a white altar is erected in front of the iconostasis that symbolizes the rock-tomb of Jesus Christ.

The painting on the altar symbolizes the Resurrection of Jesus. Jesus holds a flag in his hand that is red with a white cross on it. The flag itself is really similar to the flag of the order of Malta or to the Danish flag but actually it is an ancient symbol from the time of Constantine the Great and it refers to Christ's victory over death.

The tomb is erected on Good Friday and it can be seen in the cathedral till Pentecost. During the Easter celebrations in the cathedral (from Good Friday to Easter Tuesday) the tomb is guarded by the so-called Soldiers of Christ; unmarried, volunteer men from the town.
Magyar: A fénykép Krisztus szimbolikus sírját ábrázolja a húsvéti ünnepek idején a hajdúdorogi görög katolikus székesegyházban. A hagyományok szerint a székesegyház ikonosztáza elé egy fehér oltárt állítanak fel, amely Jézus Krisztus sziklasírját eleveníti meg.

Az oltáron látható festmény Krisztus feltámadását ábrázolja. A képen Jézus egy piros alapon fehér keresztet ábrázoló zászlót tart a kezében. Ez a zászló ugyan hasonlít a Máltai Lovagrend és Dánia zászlajára is, de valójában egy ősi szimbólumra utal Nagy Konstantin császár idejéből, és Krisztus halál fölött aratott győzelmére utal.

A jelképes sírt Nagypénteken állítják fel és egészen Pünkösdig látható a székesegyházban. A húsvéti ünnepek idején (nagypéntektől Húsvét Keddig) a sírt az úgynevezett Krisztuskatonák őrzik, akik közé hajdúdorogi önkéntes férfiak állhatnak be.
