石像寺、地蔵堂の釘抜の絵馬


Français : Japon - Kyoto - le temple de "Jizo-tenaille" (en japonais kugi-nuki), qui retire les clous, les épines et les échardes.


Autrefois, il y eut un commerçant de Kyoto qui souffrait de douleurs aux mains. Comme aucun médecin n'était capable de le soulager, il entreprit une retraite de prières adressées au Bodhisattva Jizo. Le dernier jour, Jizo lui apparut en rêve et lui révéla que son mal était d'origine karmique, causé par une action commise dans une existence précédente où il s'était livré à des activités de vaudou consistant à piquer des figurines avec des épingles. Toutefois, grâce à sa dévotion pour Jizo, il allait bénéficier d'une guérison miraculeuse. En se réveillant le lendemain matin, il constatat que toutes ses douleurs aux mains avaient disparu. Il se rendit alors au temple de Jizo sur les marches duquel il trouva deux clous ensanglantés. En remerciement il fit construire l'image d'une paire de tenailles (en japonais kugi-nuki), qui a la silhouette du bodhisattva Jizo. Celle-ci se dresse au milieu de la cour. Le mur du temple est recouvert de plaques votives qui portent une tenaille et deux clous.
