Summary[edit]

Description
English: Commemorative bell fitted to 4-6-0 'King George V' in America.
Soon after it was built in June 1927, the first Collett 'King', No. 6000, was taken to the USA for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad's Centenary celebrations, where in honour of the origination of the steam locomotive in Britain it led a parade of engines. The bell was carried on the front buffer-beam until the engine was with drawn in 12/62. The incscription reads "Presented to locomotive King George V by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company in commeration of its centenary celebration, Sept. 24th - October 15th 1927".
