Description |
" Swimming or sinking" , by Erik Pevernagie, oil on canvas,100 x 130 cm xx
While reveling in the passion of the 'moment' and braving the whirlpool of time, a flow of vibrations can surprise us and reveal unsuspected power in our inner self, giving us muscle and confidence. Instead of hating or killing time, let us embrace and escort it as a brother in arms, without regret or strain. If we follow the beat of our heart and channel the timeliness of our expectations, we can detach ourselves from greed and its compelling voices whispering "more and more." We must make necessary inferences in a challenging situation and take consequent actions. Either we swim, or we give up and sink. For swimming, we need training, calculation, and endurance. For undertaking, we need preparation, evaluation, and stamina. Since we must face unforeseen hitches during the stormy trips of our life, we are aware we must be considerate to brace ourselves for harsh times. People expect us to be responsible and enterprising "Macher" instead of sloppy "Schlepper." Nobody enjoys pussyfooting and jelly fishing creatures. Instead of vanishing in the quicksand of wishful thinking and clutching desperately to imaginary 'dei ex machina,' we must stop 'playtime,' start 'construction time,' and get things going. It is either swimming or sinking. We cannot live merely on blunt expectations or irresolution.
