Description
English: Kirsti Gallen-Kallela ja swahilityttö Mariam Ascha seisovat Gallen-Kalleloiden viimeisen Afrikan kodin edessä Nairobissa lokakuussa 1910.


Taiteilija Akseli Gallen-Kallelan perhe eli vuosina 1909-10 Brittiläisessä Itä-Afrikassa, nykyisessä Keniassa. Siellä asuessaan Kirsti tutustui paikalliseen ikätoveriinsa Mariamiin, jota hänen isänsä kutsui "pikku prinsessaksi”. Kirsti antoi Mariamille ja hänen ystävälleen Djeborille vanhat leninkinsä, mikä ilahdutti tyttöjä suuresti.
