An animation of infrared satellite imagery of Typhoon Surigae intensifying into a Super Typhoon.

Description	English: An animation of infrared satellite imagery of Typhoon Surigae intensifying into a Super Typhoon, starting from 2021-04-10T00 00Z, as a tropical disturbance, to 2021-04-18T00 00Z, a Super Typhoon. At 2021–04–17 11 18Z, the Typhoon reached it's peak intensity, with sustained winds over 190 mph, and a minimal central barometric pressure of 888 hPa, making it the strongest tropical cyclone on record in the Northern Hemisphere in the month of April. The trough to Surigae's north also impeded the typhoon's outflow, resulting in a decrease in the environmental favorability for further intensification, and thus weakened. It was then no longer classified as a Super Typhoon.
