inuous drainage established until union takes place. Extirpation of the Penis.—If there is glandular involvement, theglands are first removed, after the following manner, suggested byCurtis. An incision is begun on one side, parallel to Pouparts ligament,a,nd continued across the pubic bone to the groin of the opposite side.An upper and a lower skin-flap are dissected a little distance beyond thediseased glands. The incision is then carried downward until the fasciaof the external oblique is reached, after which the entire mass of fat andglands is dissected free from the abdominal fascia until Pouparts liga-ment is reached. The same procedure is instituted below as was carriedout above. Beginning below the mass and working upward, the fat andglands are dissected free from Scarpas space.
