Summary[edit]

Description
English: NEWBURYPORT, Mass. - Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher Findley, a crewman at Coast Guard Station Merrimack River, watches the surf while aboard a 47-foot Motor Life Boat during surf training on the bar of the Merrimack River, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009. Recent storms in the area provided the crew with 8-10 foot breaking surf, which helped prepare them for responding to actual emergencies on the bar.
