Summary[edit]

Description
English: This limestone plaque was excavated by the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago in the early 1930s, 1st season. It depicts three scenes in three registers. The upper register shows a banquet scene with musicians. The middle register shows men bringing jars. The lower register shows four horses (the chariot is now lost). There is a square hole in the middle for wall fixation. Early Dynastic period, c. 2600-2370 BCE. From the Temple Oval, "House D", Khafajah (ancient Tutub), Iraq. On display at the Sumerian Gallery of the Iraq Museum in Baghdad, Iraq.
