Summary[edit]

Description
English: This bituminous stone plaque was found in fragments. It was excavated by the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago in the early 1930s; the different fragments were collected during the 1st and 3rd seasons. It depicts processions of four-legged and horned animals (in sunken reliefs) in three horizontal registers. There is a rounded hole in the middle for wall fixation. Early Dynastic period, 2600-2370 BCE. From the Temple Oval, Khafajah (ancient Tutub), Iraq. On display at the Sumerian Gallery of the Iraq Museum in Baghdad, Iraq.
