Description
English: Structure of a two-layer clay, kaolinite (T-O) and pyrophyllite (T-O-T) with red arrow to represent the Z dimension. T-O-T clays are naturally larger in the Z direction because of the extra layer provided by the additional tetrahedral layer.
Türkçe: Z boyutunu temsil eden kırmızı oklu iki katmanlı kil, kaolinit (T-O) ve pirofilit (T-O-T) yapısı. T-O-T killeri, ek tetrahedral katman tarafından sağlanan ekstra katman nedeniyle Z yönünde doğal olarak daha büyüktür.Kaolinit başlıca bir oktahedral ve bir tetrahedral tekrarlanan katmanlarından oluşur. Bu katman, iki levhanın birer tanesinden meydana gelmiş olmasından dolayı 1:1 kil mineralli olarak sembolize edilir. Kaolinit tabakaları arasındaki bağlar Van Der waals Kuvvetleri ve hidrojen bağlarından oluşmaktadır. Bu bağlar şişme meydana gelmeyecek kadar kuvvetlidir.
