Stockholm Drone Panorama Winter 2019

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Stockholm Drone Panorama Winter 2019.

For your orientation, pls use the 360° link to visualize this spherical panorama properly.
Technical note: The panorama was done by stitching 24 single images which the drone took within a minute. The drone app automatically filled in the sky above and made stitching errors at the bottom: Since the sea moves and changes light reflections all the time, it looks like something is happening down in the water. But it isn't. ;-)

The military buildings close by, in yellow colour, north, are on the island of Skeppsholmen. Skeppsholmen is connected via a small bridge with the tiny island Kastellholmen with the red tower on the top. Behind Kastellholmen, to the east, is the western shore of Djurgården island with the Gröna Lund roller coaster (active only during summer). 500 meters north on Djurgården in dark brown colour is the Vasamuseet. Attached to Djurgården to the south is the small island of Beckholmen. Across the water anchors the Helsinki–Stockholm ferry, operated by Viking Lines. East of the large ship is the Kvarnholmen town quarter, continuing to the west with the Katarina Sofia and Östermalm districts. A lot of construction with several high cranes is going on at Slussen, directly in the west. Slussen connects the southern district with the Old Town Gamla Stan. You see Riddarholmskyrkan with its sharp high tower on Gamla Stan. Directly north of Gamla Stan is the Strömkajen Ferry terminal. The main office and shopping area of Stockholm continues further north and is barely visible on this drone photograph. → A note for drone pilots: As of 2018 Sweden has drone regulations adapted to the European proposals for drone flights. Most parts of Stockholm are No-Fly-Zones, but some, like the one I chose here, allow an altitude of 50 meters.
