Summary[edit]

Description

Each year the YCC (Youth Conservation Corps) crew and USFWS (U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service) staff conduct photopoints to monitor the Woodworth Station landscape throughout the years.

This year we came across this special insect! Photographed here is a stink bug nymph. If you look close, you can see its beak stuck in a caterpillar (predation). When in the nymph stage, the stink bug is full of vibrant orange and red colors. Unfortunately, those colors will not last. It will soon turn into just a plain brown stink bug.
