Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Stilbite, Apophyllite
Locality: Nasik District, Maharashtra, India (Locality at mindat.org)
I know that Indian Zeolite specimens are everywhere, but of all the colors that you see from India, you rarely get such a vibrant and eye catching color contrast such as this specime exhibits. Several large, lustrous, beautiful red/pink bladed Stilbite crystals measuring up to 3.0 cm intermixed with gemmy, glassy, blocky, yellowish-green Apophyllite crystals measuring up to 4.2 cm. Considering that the majority of Stilbite crystals rarely have color (typically white or tan), its a great joy to see Stilbite crystals that really stand out. This specimen is a from a pocket found about 3 years ago. I remember when the pieces came to Tucson, most collectors and dealers grabbed them as fast as possible. Please note there are a few small contacts around the periphery, but the piece is still in good shape. If youre a Zeolite collector, this is definitely one for you. If youre not a Zeolite collector, this is still a highly displayable, colorful, large cabinet specimen. 18.5 x 10.3 x 7.5cm
