Description
Français : Cette statuette en forme cylindrique, fabriquée pour Pierre Maranda, se veut une synthèse des symboles importants de la culture lau. On peut y distinguer un oiseau à sa base, un cochon et un crocodile sculptés en ronde-bosse. Des motifs en coquillages évoquent la lune, le soleil et des formes végétales. Au sommet de ce cylindre, deux visages d’ancêtres sont représentés dos à dos et rappellent la figure de Janus.
