He was graduated in due course inAugust, 1801, without either special credit orspecial mention. The straitened circumstancesof the family made it necessary that he shouldat once begin to support himself. While in col-lege he had added to his slender income in ev-ery possible way, and he now accepted the postof school-teacher in the town of Fryeburg, Me.,considering himself a lucky young fellow tohave secured the job.
