Summary[edit]

Description
English: Top of the smoke stack being placed in position, Mount Isa, 1954 The top of the 110 foot smoke stack being placed in position. It weighs two and a half tons and the crane had to be extended to complete the job. This is part of the dust collection equipment of the Mount Isa Mine Company's Power House. For twenty years the townspeople have had to suffer dust emissions from this power house so the addition will be a boon to all. (Description supplied with photograph.).
