Description |
Polski: Stanisław Jarocki "Żmudź Święta", malarstwo olejne, Wilno, 1910
English: S. Jarocki painted mostly landscapes. One of his most famous pictures is a neo-romantic landscape Sacred Samogitia, where he pictured the sunlit fields and groves of the lowlands with green meadows and ripening corn. In the foreground, he painted Lithuanian crosses – symbols of national spirit, suffering and resurrection of the nation.
